Conveyancing
Conveyancing is the process of transferring the title of a property from one owner to the new owner.
Once a sale has been agreed, the Vendor and the Purchaser need to appoint a lawyer to see the transaction through to conclusion. Currently only Jersey qualified lawyers can present contracts to Royal Court.
With Nick Dodsley's background being 29 years in the local conveyancing we are well placed to recommend lawyers and conveyancers and also to assist you through the conveyancing process. We have great knowledge of many local properties and therefore if we have dealt with some of these properties before our input could be invaluable and also help to speed up the process of your transaction.
There are three principal methods of ownership of property, which are
- a freehold sale,
- flying freehold
- share transfer.
We can discuss the process with you when you meet with us or attend at our office. We are more than happy to recommend a select few lawyers and law firms.
You will need to negotiate your legal fee structure with your chosen lawyer.
PLEASE NOTE: If ND Holdings Limited is instructed by a law firm to undertake freelance conveyancing services by way of title check, site visit and report to the instructing lawyer, ND Holdings Limited will receive a fee. ND Holdings Limited does not act individually for any member of the public or customer and for property transactions in Jersey you must generally use a lawyer.
