Character cottage style ski chalet for sale in La Rosiere amongst the pine trees in quiet reserve
OFFERED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR PARTNERS - Stunning three bedroom chalet that is being sold completely fully furnished and equipped. The chalet has been fully renovated to a unique and high standard, with no detail missed. The heating, electricity, roof and insulation are all new, the exterior has also been improved. So all it needs now are new owners to benefit from this ready to go ski chalet!
Amongst the trees of Le Gollet, a pretty reserve in La Rosiere that has been developed in the 70s, all the plots are spacious and there are no properties built on top of each other. The plot here is over 1,000m2 and surrounds the chalet. The entrance is down a stone step pathway from the road and goes directly into a recently built hallway. There are fitted cupboards all around this entrance hall, a larder, and WC which has been fitted with a unique, hand painted ceramic loo – it’s very pretty! This hallway sets the scene of what is to come throughout the rest of the chalet. Hand painted images of local mountain life adorn the doors and the wooden beams, there are also many unusual objets d’art such as cowbells and oil lamps decorating the room.
You go through to the open plan living, dining and corner kitchen. There is a door on to the balcony that sweeps around the front and sides of the chalet, so you can dine outside on sunny, warm days. Giving views of 180 degrees around the valley and facing south to south-west the light floods in to the chalet so the living area is particularly light and airy. There is a stone fire place in the living, a typical mountain chalet extra. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a serving bar to the dining, you could have stools here to use as a breakfast bar. Tiled with unusual, painted tiles the kitchen carries on the theme of pretty, unique, detailing. There are more paintings on the wooden beams and doors in the living and dining and also wood carvings in the doors and on some panels – all depicting ways of mountain life or of animals found in the Tarentaise.
There are some steps up to the mezzanine which is an individual suite, with a sitting area overlooking the living room, through to a double bedroom in the eaves of the chalet with its own en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a corner bath, there is a WC and hand basin. Again, the whole suite has painted feature beams, bath panel and toilet.
On the ground floor, that is accessed by a staircase from the entrance hall, there are two double bedrooms, a shower room with handbasin, separate WC and storage cupboards. There is also a room that houses the hot water cylinder and a large storage room for skis, sporting equipment and other bits and pieces! The bedrooms have built in wardrobes and of course the pretty murals painted on to the doors and beams, all very beautiful designs.
The chalet is sold with a large garage which is just opposite the chalet on the road above. It is a really quiet haven in Le Gollet and during the winter season the ski bus stops just a few minutes walk down the road. You can ski back to the chalet easily and there is also a drag lift just above the chalet which is probably a good 5-10 minutes walk.
La Rosiere is a really lovely ski resort, very appealing to families. There are all the usual attractions during the winter and summer season, but also extras such as the famous St Bernard rescue dogs! The mountain pass called the Col du Petit St Bernard snakes its way through the resort and up, over to Italy. It is usually opened in June after the snow has been cleared and provides passageway to Courmayeur, Aoste and beyond! The resort is very focused on families and children, with activities, entertainment and excellent child care at the Gallopins centre. There are some fantastic walks in and around La Rosiere, there is a small golf course that is kept a closely guarded secret, a horse riding centre, ice skating and lots of shops, restaurants and bars.
The climate is really good here too, the resort sits in a wide open, south, south-west facing bowl that gets fantastic snow during the winter and benefits from full sun throughout the seasons!
At 1850 metres altitude, the resort is around 30 minutes from Bourg Saint Maurice and accessible from Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon airports in around 2 hours
